USA bagged the ODI status for 1st time their cricketing history as they crushed Hong Kong by 84 runs in the World Cricket League Division 2 game in Windhoek on Wednesday (April 24). Oman, who had three successes in their initial three matches, were granted the ODI status too.
The triumph was USA’s third in the event, in four matches, and guaranteed they will in top four on the points table. The top four teams from Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Namibia, Canada, Oman and USA will join Scotland, the UAE and Nepal in Cricket World Cup League 2.
After the opening loss against Oman by 6 wickets, USA beaten Namibia by two runs, PNG by ten wickets and Hong Kong in their last match. They will presently take on Canada on April 26. They are on top of the table and will try to finish in the top two to claim the spot in the final.
Oman, on the other hand, were clinical as they crushed USA, Canada and Hong Kong in their initial three matches. After their match against Namibia, they will take on PNG before the final.
