Fernando Alonso adds come back to 24 Hours of Daytona to plan

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –Fernando Alonso will come back to the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona one year from now with Wayne Taylor Racing.

The two-time Formula One title holder and Kamui Kobayashi, a FIA World Endurance Championship ordinary, were named co-drivers Tuesday for the twice-nonstop continuance race Jan. 26-27 at Daytona International Speedway. They will join Wayne Taylor Racing regulars Jordan Taylor and Renger van der Zande in the No. 10 Cadillac.

It will be the second back to back Rolex for Alonso, who resigned a weekend ago from F1. The Spaniard hustled a year ago with United Autosport in the LMP2 class and completed thirteenth after a mechanical issue.

He was a piece of the triumphant 24 Hours of Le Mans group in June.

Alonso effectively declared an arrival in May to the Indianapolis 500 as he tries to win all the best races on the planet.
